Ok guys, we have been holding off on doing these but it has been a full month since release and it needs to happen.
We need to discuss updating the inactive processing procedures for LotV but for this first run I'm using the following criteria, no games played(from rosters page) and no website login since release day. This is a somewhat looser metric than we have traditionally used.
I've make a slight change to the rainbow rosters, players with exactly 0 games played are now displayed in white to help distinguish them from shades of red. That is to say that when processing inactives, you only need to look at the white ones.
I have compiled this list of players with no games played and their last website login dates. They are separated into two groups, logins since LotV release(Nov 10) and not.
No games played but have logged in since release:

I am soliciting comments here over the weekend. If we don't have major objections we will process these twenty players as inactive come Monday.
I would also like to hear opinions about the criteria for inactive processing for the future. If we don't agree to new criteria we will go back to the original ones.
I am also proposing a change. Currently inactive members may not post on the forums. I suggest we add a new section to the forums where people in the inactive groups may post so that they can request being made active again without necessarily having to find an officer on bnet directly.
Note: The situation here, even cutting twenty players, isn't as dire as it might seem. We are recruiting at a good clip and the bleeding of players to LiT is slowing down dramatically. I expect most of our new recruits to have better retention that we have historically had. We had a successful clanwar today and have more scheduled. I've promoted two more officers that have expressed an interest in recruiting so that they may give the clantag themselves. Things are, at least for the moment, looking positive.
Also interesting, since I did such a substantial rework of the ldap_update script I updated its logfile format. This lets me do some things like the following where I count the number of appearances of each clantag in the logfile. This is only counting players that have valid api urls and are being updated by the script. Of note, 22 players left for LiT. We did not have a good count of that before.
That the numbers didn't add up bothered me so I went looking some more. Apparently we have fucked up doing a number of inactives in the past. The following are people that have the clantag but should not. We need to clean these up.
Have clantag but are in inactive group:
Edred doesn't play StarCraft really anymore and is listed on the LiT website on their Heroes of the Storm team, i don't know if you see this as him leaving us for LiT but just thought I should make that known
Well according to the criteria, he hasn't taken off the tag and *has* logged in recently. Looking at his match history he only played his placement matches the day the game came out and none since. So until he matches the rules for inactive or he takes off his clantag, imma leave him where he is.
Those 20 have had plenty of time to get the game/log in stating their intentions so goodbye to them.
I came up white despite having played a number of games prior to the implementation. So when we do start processing these in-actives over the next few days, it would be worthwhile just double checking their bnet profiles to make sure it is displaying correctly. Gumbum was the same but it was showing 0 for the last month yet 60 odd seasonal, so I assume it is based off the time of implementation?
Personally I dont have an issue with the 21 days login/game played, allowing enough leeway for unannounced holidays/random occurrences etc.
Technically it is 3 weeks from the moment that the ldap is updated, down to the second. So an hour later a game could age off as the updater runs every hour. A number of people played games on launch day and have since passed the 3 week mark.
I will doublecheck them individually and also doublecheck the updater.
